FOUNDATIONS FOR FAMILY STUDIES
Mentoring families in Biblical principles
Training people to disciple the Nations in the Family Sphere.
The Foundations for Family Studies School a second level course that trains people called to discipling the Nations. Our goal and focus of the Foundations for Family Studies course is to provide a foundation for UofN students to receive a biblical concept for family life, equip them with models and skills to help individuals and families and to see families transformed through our students.
This course is also the entry into a UofN A.A. and B.A. degree in Family Studies through our College of Education. We also encourage any UofN degree student to consider adding this course to their degree program.
Our goal is to train individuals and families to reach families in the Nations. Provide a foundational course that leads to a either an A.A. or B.A. degree in Family Studies.
Our aim is:
• Equip students with the means that will enable them to disciple families through the knowledge and skills obtained. The course material is directly applicable to their ministry opportunities, and provides them with ready to use materials, models and skills that can be put into action.
• Provide a theoretical framework and worldview of family that will enable them to serve others with confidence.
• Equip students to progress in their personal journey as family helpers and mentor couples and individuals, to be FFS staff, and small group leaders for couples and families in the church context. They will receive a knowledge and skill based foundation of family life consistent with a biblical perspective to build on their current experience. They will develop concepts and applications in collaboration with the school staff.
